6. "black's out" = lose b from the word meaning a "jacket recommendation "

6 Works better if there's an apostrophe in Black's. That way you can remove it from the 'jacket's recommendation' to get the Band.

Thanks for all your help xwordfan. Clearly, getting the first word of 24a wrong didn't help (not the most usual synonym for drunk), but I'm still not sure I'd have got 27a (stuff Bush...) or 23d (some leg) without your help. Possibly not 25d either as I did not understand the clue at all!!

All in all a great crossword though. Favourite was 19d 'Have a lie-in here and you'll be late'. Brilliant!

Finding this one quite difficult. Some help with a couple of clues might set me in the right direction please. I can't even understand the explanations given by previous replies! 13/14 has totally defeated me: 'An odious aspect of you, your partner might wake up to? (7/6). I only have ????I?? ??????
Also: In which X often makes an appearance with large fancy pyjama bottom round knob-end. (7) ??????A
