Yeah, "one" + letters 2,3,5,6,7&8 reversed is particular containing a crossword abbreviation for nurse.

As a native Brit I don't recognise 12a, but the one which leaves
me baffled is 11a: even looking at the official "annotated solution" doesn't show me how the 3 letters before the last one come from the clue. Any hints?

I meant to say 11d of course!
