Hi Bobby,

1d - has a misprint in the definition but isn't one of the altered clues although it does contribute a letter to one.

2d - an ordinary clue - 3 letter "sailor" + 5 letter "carp" (moan) - definition is "bream".

Thanks, Brendan. I created my own problems by being convinced that my original solution to 11 was the grid entry. I guess that you know the feeling all too well!!

11a - my first one in - was the source of me being held up the NW corner too. I had to wait for the pdm to get out of the “unpleasant place”. Truly, “in my end is my beginning”! All good fun, though.
