Wordplay tells you it’s SLOOM ((moo + l(ip)s) reversed), but the definition is unknown to me

Ok I had no idea of Low = Moo, that's new to me. I've seen that word in a past crossword so nearly went for it anyway based purely on ls + "what else could it be?".

"Sloom" is correct, confirmed via the "Profanisaurus" which is to "Viz" what "Chambers" and/or "Bradford's" is to "The Listener" or "Speccie".
