Cosmo123... thanks. My 25a was wrong. Now corrected. And now got 12d. Your reference to babybird who I have never heard of but just looked up is helpful... gives you your first four letters in 1a.

Yevrah - ahh, I've got something different. Very English. Does yours fit with 'gull'?

Phil10000 well now I am not sure. I have ?O?L . Gull as in gullible can mean to **** someone . And my middle Eastern dish is a homophone of that but not quite a puree. I may be up the wrong tree.

Yevrah, you letters are correct. Gull is a noun. The purée I would say is English and fruity

In fact gull could be either a noun or a verb here, they both work here
