Something amiss at 44A?

There has been a lot of discussion about this - it seems to be a setter’s error - the solution should be afraid (sounds like a frayed)

Thanks - I don't know the other forum (life's too short). I had the answer you suggest - it's not too difficult - but sniffed an editorial error.

Any help with the unclued 'minor theme' would be appreciated. I don't keep old copies, and am only confident about 'FEATURES' and 'SUCCESSFUL' so far.

I seem to have goofed with inserting the listed letters to the left of the puzzle. Now i cannot discern the word before "anthem". I assume it is "rocking". Can someone please verify? Thanks in advance.

I agree 44a appears to be a setting error. Solution afraid features in the clue. Replace afraid in the clue by scared and it sort of works.
As a help to all without the back numbers the full extract, which starts at top left of the shaded squares, is:
“The baby who featured in the very successful rocking anthem rock-a-bye baby is suing the producers of the hit lullaby”.

I seem to have thrown away the copy which included this bit of Nursery Times but so far I have worked out with your help:
"THE BABY WHO FEATURES IN THE SUCCESSFUL ROCKING ANTHEM ROCK A BYE BABY IS SUING THE ??????E?? OF THE HIT LULLABY"

(PRODUCERS would fit).
