Nowhere near finished yet, xwordfan, but I always enjoy Pabulum's puzzles and so far this is no exception.

can I just check that you are referring to the Dectet puzzle?

Okay, I see it is:-)

I promised myself that I would make just a start on it today but got carried away.

This was a real treat from start to finish, first solving and then working out the unclued entries before trying to identify the names of the people whose 89d was 50d/2a.

I'm still not totally certain of the final letter in both 63d and 85d but it's early days so hopefully I'll soon have a PDM.

Thanks to Pabulum for a great way to kick-off the Christmas puzzles:-)

I found 63d in Chambers just as you suggested. Sadly, it's not that I looked and missed it the first time round - I didn't even bother looking, I mean, why would I? We all know what the word means 🤬

Of course, I could say that this was a momentary lapse, a one-off if you will, but we all know that's not true. In fact. it's not even the only instance of it in this puzzle - I did the exact same thing with 114a! I mean, why would I? We all know what Japan means ...aaaggghh ! 🤬🤬

I could say "once bitten ...." or "I've learnt my lesson" but ... well ..... we all know that's ...... 😂
