Got it all - apart from the first idea how to follow the sequence. So annoying.

Agree tatters. Fell for this first time as a kid at school. Never again! Know the answer to put in the blocked off cell but not sure how to show it in the grid. Nice puzzle Lath, thank you.

I'm at the same stage. It appears (according to wiki) to have several names, none of which fit the grid. And it's an awfully small cell in which to fit several letters. More staring tomorrow.

A single letter in the empty cell does it for me but I just see no relevance to the first part of the instruction. I doubt that a whole weekend's grid staring will bring me any joy either. It was all going so well!

A single letter does it for us too .The instruction is quite explicit but does not quite enable the sequence to be shown as we would like. 🤔

Loved finding the message— but this particular pastime is not in my wheelhouse. Took my best crack at the endgame! Single letter also did it for me (refers back to a term in the grid, right?)

Single letter for me too. I thought this was brilliantly constructed and great fun, but I predict there will be some debate over the exact appearance of the final grid.

I've filled the grid bar 24d and 38a. I have all their crossing letters but just can't a) solve either of them, or b) see a possible letter for their intersection. I've searched Chambers with both their letter patterns but it's not giving me any options that would satisfy their intersection. I suppose my question is 'are both solutions in Chambers?' If so, I must have gone wrong with one of the crossing solutions (although I've double-checked them all). No other hints at this stage please. Thanks.
