Certainly a more difficult gridfill than usual for the Listener numeric. Enjoyable nonetheless- it helps getting practice with the Magpies each month. Thank you Arden

I found the grid fill pretty straight forward and really appreciated the 16ac/31ac clues. The end game was incredible as I didn't think you could fit that number of nets into the grid. However, as the setter was Arden of course you could! Great puzzle.

Oyler, nice to see a setter of numeric puzzles enjoying other setters’ numericals . We certainly enjoy your puzzles.
You mentioned 16 ac and 31ac, which was our way in to get the starting digits. Great puzzle!

Thnk, loge, for your response to my Listener publication / Christmas Day query (#4).

I came back with a query about Listener 4686 and found a hint about the way in! Is that allowed in this thread? (I'll take it nevertheless, as I, for once, overlooked this obvious connection!)

My query - if allowed - is, if, as the preamble states, “power” means an integer (greater than 1) raised to a power of 3 OR MORE, can I assume that "Multiple of a power" does not allow the answer to be, for instance, n³×n since this would qualify as a power?

Jif73. You make a good point. However, no such problem occurs in 4686.
