All discussions on the puzzle should take place on this thread. Gentle hints toi clues may be given, as may VERY GENTLE hints to the theme. Absolutely no answers should appear here.

As this is a numerical puzzle, which I never even attempt, I have no idea how 'helping' would work!

Thanks Malone. As this is a numerical puzzle, I will hold over on posting the three threads until next week.

Thanks, malone and tatters.
I've asked this before but did not see an answer. As Christmas Day 2021 falls on a Saturday and traditionally no paper in the UK publishes an edition on this day, does that mean there will be only 51 Listener crosswords this year OR will the final one appear on Boxing Day or on another non-standard day?

Jif, the last time Christmas Day fell on a Saturday was 2010, and according to the Listener site there was no puzzle that day. Whether that'll happen again is anyone's guess. Not very helpful, I know!

Almost two hours for the gridfill, will leave the net stuff until Saturday. I thought the gridfill was on the tricky side for a Listener numerical. Suspect those who don't like numericals might find this a bit tortuous!

Fun logical endgame I thought, almost as tricky as the grid fill. Thanks Arden.

How sad to learn of Anne Bradford's death. Her Crossword Solver's Dictionary accompanies me with just about every crossword that I embark on. I have sent her several lists of suggested amendments and additions, most of which appeared in subsequent editions, so I am proud to have made a minor contribution to her monumental work

I’m also sad to hear of Mrs Bradford’s death. She seemed quite a character, and I always use her dictionary.
