13 There was a famous critic (apparently!) called Walter PATER and pater also means father, coming from the Latin (I think).

Ah yes of course! The famous Walter Pater - how remiss of me to not remember him.
Rheum is a new word for me too although I've had it often enough.
Didn't know the pronunciation and spelling of FORECASTLE.
