Is it just that OCTUPLET has 8 letters?
GRAM is a pea-like pulse. I can see G RAM, but why the G?

@chrise, I think you're right about OCTUPLET. Not a satisfying clue IMO.

I think you're on the right lines for G-RAM but I don't get where the G comes from.

It seems very contrived so I'm doubtful but Oxford Languages gives ag as an abbreviation of agricultural and agricultural as a synonym of farm (adjective), so 'not a farm' would leave a G

Given that "ag" is a valid abbreviation, that makes sense, geting. However I've never seen "ag" used.
