Bananabean, some are horizontal, some are vertical.

There are 47 cells to be highlighted, but the rest of your sentence isn't accurate.

Thanks, drxx. I was sadly looking at a cut down version of the text. Now I can see what to do.

A most enjoyable puzzle. Like Brendan I was not looking at the required version to begin with but that didn't lessen the fun. The only 'trouble' is that the tune has been going round in my head since Sunday.

Hello,

my message isn't regarding EV 1510, but EVs in general.
I've been a regular solver of EVs for a few years now. I even registered to the Telegraph website to download old puzzles and keep practising in between two Sundays / new crosswords.

What I usually do is print them out three by three, solve them, check the solutions then throw them to the recycling bin, except for a few masterpieces that I collect in a special file (for example, the Rosetta stone crossword by Shackleton).

Now, there's one puzzle I'd like to try again, but I can't remember its name, number or setter. So I can't find it anywhere, even when googling key words. I was wondering if there were any collectors or EV fans passionate enough to be able to tell me (at least) its number or publishing date. After that, finding it in the Telegraph archives will be easy.
All I remember is the endgame was like a "metal ball maze" game. I think solvers had to start from an O somewhere in the grid and draw lines through particular words or individual letters and trace the course of the metal ball.

If it rings a bell, I'd appreciate your help to save me more frustration.
Sorry for interrupting this thread, but I didn't want to create a new one just for this one request.
Have a good day, fellow solvers
Manu

Hi manu,
have you tried emailing Steve Bartlett the EV editor? Probably worth mentioning you're a current subscriber.

Thanks for the query, manu. I believe you refer to:

EV1206: A Fantasy in Two Movements by Ploy for 20.12.2015.
