With just under two hours left to vote, we have two clear front-runners. However, there are five votes outstanding, so there is still a possibility of a dark horse claiming the victory.

Lots to like, including...

Mattrom #12, Jono #14, Chrise #17, Buddy #20, Fieryjack #33, Paul #34.

Vote: Dorrien #3.

@Chrise As I don't look at others clues before voting, I didn't realise that you had already used audiotape.

Well, that is 2:00 here, 8:00 in the UK, but we have 10 minutes of extra time to break the tie. Will geeker or busby remember to come back to vote? I'll be back in 10 with the final outcome.

Here are the final results:

In third place was ginge @29. Tied for first making a difficult decision for me, as they were both excellent, were Jono @14 and BBM @ 36. I didn't take Jono's clue as &lit at first; I thought "letter" alone was the definition, but I see that it works both ways. Marty has caught onto the idea that a last minute entry gets attention, but it would be for nought without a great clue. It was a tough choice, but BigBadMarty2 gets the edge with

Tiny fragment of moon found adjacent to star's core (4)

Congratulations, Marty! Here is your prize:

I had already thought of this as a prize, but your clue clinched it.

Sorry, Jono.

Congrats Marty and thanks Doug, I think we all did better than the recent spate of “A to I“ clues don’t you think? Thanks to Mattrom, Ginge, Dorrien and Marty for votes and likes from Chris, Paul, Spike and Aristo.

Jupiter has been rather bright recently (in the uk that is), it will be directly South at around 11pm tonight should you wish to look out for it. In fact I can see it now
