Thanks to Artix for a great puzzle - one of the hardest, in my opinion, for some time. It's taken me much of the day to do - kind of making up for last week when I forgot to get an i-paper. I was thrown off the trail for the theme at least twice, once by two near-miss and slightly incomplete words, and again when I found that one of the dn. answers appears also in a row.

I'm still missing a couple of letters from the author's name (an L and an M), but found the thematic title (eventually).

You're a lot further on than me. I have a full grid, bar 2 answers, but there are several I haven't been able to fully parse and, hence, am a few letter short to make the name.

I do have an L and an M if you get stuck.

I have done a handful of clues, and wolld appreciate a few hints for 13 down - clue reads like it has a def of sea creatures, perhsps with an anagram of in school with 2 more letters. Clearly sitting in Brewdog, drinkung beer is nit good for neural activity!

An old slang word for fashionable/'in' + a 3 letter school of whales + an anag of 'same'.

You need to separate the 'in' (as in 'trendy') and 'school' (as in marine creatures) and then add an anagram of 'same'.
