I seem to be missing one of the 12 ...even though grid is full?
The "numbers" for the 11 I have in clue order are 27, 31, 103, 94, 42, 96, 44, 6, 97, 19, 9

I think you've missed the little one in the central column, Xwordfan.

Not sure where your 96 comes from? There are nine thematic entries, three in each half and a further three which are in both halves.

Well that was worth persevering with! 37 and 38 gave me my way into the theme. 18 provided the difference between top and bottom halves. Some tough clues but fortunately I knew about the 1d disk drives which helped.
Haven't exactly sorted the missing letters yet but can see the respective names in them. I assume I need to sort the letters into top half and bottom half clues rather than across and down clues?
