I agree with earlier comments. Oh for the days of Araucaria's Bank Holiday puzzles. I'll give it a miss too.

I'm going to do an old prize puzzle instead - no 24,505.

I’m solving plenty of clues but no idea where to start on the grid. If you find a way in Jono I would certainly appreciate a hint!

Lubricator, the perimeter should help

Hi, I'm struggling with the instructions as to where to start with the perimeter words. Have you gone with the right-most of the bottom row, or the lowest square of the right column, or one of those in between? For loads of answers I think but no foothold in the actual grid.

Same here Matt79. Whatever I do the 3 letter words at each side don’t make sense. I will endeavour to persevere (as Chief Dan George said)

FWIW I used the 2 ten letter ones as the entry into the grid, simply since the one on the right was the only one that could fit due to the 8 letter word starting going east. Unfortunately you need to have sussed the theme to get that one.

What a drag, does anyone actually know all of these? I don't like resorting to google but had no option for a lot of this. Going to watch the F1 now, even that surpasses the enjoyment of this puzzle.

I've managed to get one of the ten letter clues into the grid (the left one). I'm doing OK with the clues - have got about half of them, but I'm not sure I'll get many more.

There's one thing about the instructions that I don't get:

"The one-word solution to a 'normal' clue is to be entered into the gird in two parts."

I'm not sure what's meant by entering in two parts.
