Thanks Rocketman for the golf term, a new one on me

Finding this a struggle this week and not much enjoying it.
Some of my many gaps include:

33d Put into new vessel, stuck, having broken shin inside (11)

29d Typical – only the second half is quarrelsome (7)
E?????c

45d Greeting famous person, receiving answer, extremely short (7)
n?m?s??

33dn is TRANSHIPPED - anagram of shin in trapped.

29dn was my last one in - think of the last seven letters of “charactERISTIC”

45dn is NAMASTE - “famous person” is NAME around A for “answer” and ST, the outside letters of “short”.

Thank you winstonian, glad I asked because I've never heard of eristic or namaste.

Just to clear up the golfing reference, the R & A is a popular golf club at St.Andrews, and is an abbreviation of Royal and Ancient. Many of the Open Golf tournaments have been played there.

Obviously COSY or COSE, but where does the E or Y come from?

Could it me COSH - a trigonometrical expression and also a Scottish word for cosy according to Chambers? Seems a bit obscure, though.
