12a had me a little puzzled. Could not see why ‘French dish’ when the answer is t............. I am obviously missing something.

Note by Admin - I have been requested to remove the answer, it is not appropriate to give answers so early in the day (or even at all). However, I left the 't' as first letter.

Thomas, French goes with ‘you’ to give you two letters…

What is it that I can't see that makes 4 a COD? The solution seems obvious from the crosses, but I've no idea why (except for the ending).

Fitzrover, 4d parses as 7 (kitchen surface) + 3 (which I think you have)

Quite remarkably 8d appears in yesterday's Times crossword and Jumbo !

However, can't parse 15a, and totally stuck on 14A.
And either stuck on, or can't parse 2D, too.
