Norah, being a relative newcomer, I have stayed out of the fray as it were, but I have a few observations. Warning: Long post.
By the way I think you are doing a great job trying to deal with us Listener folks. However, none of the other puzzles seem to generate so much controversy. In the current Everyman thread, a newcomer (I presume) posted an answer, and was gently corrected by a longtime participant, and you were called in to edit the post. That seems to work beautifully. I don't know what it is about the Listener that makes that more difficult, except that there is usually a major theme and serious endgame.
Solvers being at different places may mean that one person's subtle hint is another's blatant giveaway. Still, I don't think that is too often the case, and we all certainly know to expect hints that might expose an answer before we are ready. I have developed the art of skimming to avoid that as much as possible.
The latest controversies started bubbling when one user exposed the entire theme blatantly about six weeks ago. (Listener 4664.) Clearly over the line. Then
that same user posted full answers in a more recent puzzle. These were the most flagrant offenses, so perhaps giving that user a "good talking to" would be part of the solution? Then perhaps we could go back safely to the one thread.
