I loved your “mobile” clue but didn’t fully understand it! I thought it had something to do with the “base@ station but couldn’t get the “till”!

Hi Paul, Chambers has a def. of 'bastille' as 'a movable tower used by besiegers'. Perhaps they used it to besiege the Bastille?
