Old Telegraph Cryptic, post by Kasseistasmper

'The peer is Peter taking ages (4-9)' is the clue.
With all 7 checking letters and the definition in the clue, 'time-consuming' is clearly the answer but I have no idea why.
Any suggestions welcomed.

Reply by Bunty - t (time) inside peer ...time consumed by peer

Reply by Kasseistamper - Thanks for that, I must have been half asleep!

Glad to help, Rog62.
Leyton Orient play at Brisbane Road, so there's an Aussie connection for you!
