Pleasant puzzle which I enjoyed immensely.

However, I am stumped by the two word phrase, which I assume is 7/5 and runs in the north to south diagonal. I have two possibilities, neither of which make much sense (to me that is).

You are right that it is (7,5), and it’s an anagram of another two word phrase, (3,9), which is preceded by either of two words as a cryptic indicator. The extra letters spell out the definition of the whole three word phrase. The (7,5) isn’t a particularly meaningful phrase. I think the first letter is H and the last S. Sorry if you knew all that

Thanks, quisling. The H 7/5 was one of my possibilities. I had stupidly overlooked the anagram bit. Foolish of me given the nature of the puzzle!!
