47 em dash? I don't see a definition, or where the AS comes from; might it refer back to another clue?

40a - It looks like "carpenter" = CHIPPY with the "bits 1 and 0's swapped making CHOPPY.

47d - EM DASH - MD + "when" = AS in E(nglish) H(ospital) but I can't see any definition.

27a Musical work's intricate movement heard, with which film closed (9) Rigoletto? Can't parse if it is.

18a Like the element of chance in roulette usually: hoping, initially and spinning! (9) s?l???r??

22d Weaver with cold heart in the position of a crank (6,4,6) ???t?? ???d ?e????

27a - I could be way but I think it parses as ...

"intricate movement heard" = homophone of wriggle = RIGOL

+ "film" = ET + "closed" = TO as in 'pushed the to'.

18a - Initial letters of "chance, in, roulette, usually, hoping" then "and" = PLUS all reversed/"spinning".

22d - "weaver" = BOTTOM (from A Midsummer Night's Dream) + "cold heart" = DEAD CENTRE - position of crank(shaft) in an engine, say.

Thanks Brendan, having to know that Bottom was a weaver was a step too far for me. Mind you, I've never heard of the answer so I was never going to get 22d anyway.

I think it refers back to clue 15 where there is an em dash after blood
