Think of the HMS as first letters of the thematic missing items.

All done apart from 36 and 42. Is either of these thematic?

Both are thematic.
36. Prince is Ethiopian and artist is 4 letter female beginning with E. Discussion Group is the def.

42. (5, 4) Rubbish is 5 letter word less last letter plus M.

Yet another tremendous puzzle. I have eight thematic entries, which give me a time of the afternoon when I would often almost nod off before my retirement!! Luckily the tea-trolley would perk me up.

Hmm! Then I wonder if I've gone wrong - I have 9 thematics but 2H, 4M and 3S.

My spanking new ODQ arrived today, so I'm hoping next week's IQ and Listener are both based on a modern quotation!

Thanks Loge. I'm still relying on my 4th Ed. ODQ which, to date at least, has proved woefully inadequate in helping with the barred puzzle endgames 😢
