Well, I’m confused now. I’ve got a clash at 1a/1d which doesn’t contribute to the question.

But doesn't that "correct" letter belong to 1d as it's the G that is entered?

Hi cloverjo, each of the 43 affected answers has only 1 altered letter so now you know the entry for 1d and the "correct" letter for 1d. The "correct" letters making up the question are in clue order ie across clues followed by downs. Hope this helps.

For anyone mildly troubled by temporary non-words, I commend today’s EV (1468) 43 “misprints” and a final transform with real words all the way. A chef d’oeuvre from proXimal. And very “satisfying”!

Yet another tremendous puzzle. Moderately difficult clues but a very tricky grid fill, helped along immensely when the rest of the required letters became apparent.

I know what changing the four letters will achieve but I'm buggered if I can see them!

6 letters diagonally S-E from the second letter of 'does'. Six letters in total but only 4 need changing.
