Brilliant puzzle

I agree. Great effort to get everything in the right place.

Bananabean - look top right for the start of the map; it sounds as if you've got the finish of the map; the penultimate element is horizontally very close to it - google an appropriate site and you'll find it.

I now have the last two near the finish but I can't see the start. Am I right to look for a 4-letter word near the top right of the grid?

I really enjoyed this but there's one bit I'm not sure of. I'm assuming the L shaped element is the ????? turn, but, it it's the one in the top left, then I've got an inverted L rather than a regular L - have I got it in the wrong place?

Have finished except for the first letter in 42a) It generates swinging motion in gym (4).Thanks for any hints.

42a - Is a double definition (although I didn't know either) "it generates" and "swinging motion in gym".

It's not really possible to give a hint but it's also a homophone of a slang word for a 'sleep' or 'nap'.
