Grave is a term in phonetics relating to the INTENSITY of a sound. Then SIN and the letter T are eliminated from INTENSITY, the letter T being the dash, which is Morse code for T. This is then replaced by M for male (men).

I might be wrong, but this is what I thought!

Thanks, Fleetwood - it's not often I say this, but I prefer my version! I have checked Chambers and I couldn't see a direct link giving Grave = Intensity, or vice versa. I did find 'Enormity- a great crime', which seems to work as 'grave sin'.

'agua' is Spanish for 'water', with the 'main' being the sea.
