Gentle and accessible puzzle this week, though while the first part of the end game was pretty simple, the second part had me looking for the wrong things until I took a break and immediately saw how it worked on return. Sometimes helps!

Have spent the best part of 50 years avoiding this stuff and even a 2 minute consult with Wiki was 120 seconds too long. Back to the golf!

Agree Tatters. Straightforward, never a fan.
The kids enjoyed the films though.

I'm with you, tatters. I avoided this week's theme for a similar length of time, mainly because everyone seemed to be going crazy about it!

The 'epithet' seemed to me to be a random collection of letters - even after I had spotted that I had done my usual trick of finding the correct letter for the misprint in one clue, only to write a different letter! After staring at it for a long time, I resorted to simply giving the whole string of letters to Google Assistant and the nice lady sorted it out for me.

I finally managed to complete the grid by filling in the unchecked letter in 37d at 22:56, so that's a PB for me!

(I still can't parse 8d though, but, like so may other lights in this puzzle, it has no unchecked letters, so no nudges or hints required, thanks; it will probably come to me as soon as I hit the 'Add Post' button.)

Well I am a fan of the theme, though I haven't visited it in either medium for quite a while. Like Zabadak, I spent a while on a wild goose chase with the final stage (I took the "reflected" in the preamble rather too literally), but this was still the gentlest puzzle we've had for a while. Not that I'm complaining - it's about time we had an easier one!
