Listener puzzles 3185 (1993) and 3376 (1996) by Phil Brindall were both entitled 'Grand Slam'; these involved not only the four sides of the puzzle being labelled 'North', 'East', 'South' and 'West', but also the 52 cards being shown around the outside of the 13x13 grid. The individual clues were associated with a specific card and presented in order of play (East-West recording a grand slam in clubs); solutions were entered from the relevant direction (eg if the card was played by East the entry was made from right to left). Just a thought - though I'm not aware of either puzzle being available online or in reprinted form.

I remember Listener 3185. It was around the time I started doing Listeners and would have been the second or third puzzle I ever attempted. It took me nine hours to finish it!
