Essentially CL’s life work was to do the same thing described as being done somewhat earlier by Adam in the biblical reference, using the structure as illustrated by the numbered unclued answers.

Enjoyed the gridfill very much. Have now spent nearly as long trying to figure out the second name/ identify likely 10 letter combinations in the grid as I did on the rest of the puzzle. Starting to get a bit frustrated. Hoping posting will give me a bolt of inspiration...

What HW7 said. Also C was Adam in the taxonomic sense as his type specimen for h. sap. was himself.
