Hi Jono,

I had exactly the same thought about the "spin doctor" in 14d but I think it should be possible to reverse engineer it, as it were.

It's going to be strange to use a pen and paper again! But thanks for posting the pdf link. My Sunday can begin at last.

Hi Kas,

18d - 3 letter word for "certainly" reversed/"upset" + 5 letter word for "love" minus its first letter/"when beheaded" - definition is "Henry's wife".

PS Your first R is wrong.

Good morning and many, many thanks to Germy for the link, without which my Sunday morning would’ve been right out of whack, and Brendan for the warm welcome.

Nice puzzle, not quite as many of the standard Everyman-type clues, I didn’t think. Like Brendan, I wasn’t entirely comfortable with parsing 15a (which seemed to have redundant words), and conversely 4d (which felt as if it was missing a word), but in both cases the definition was pretty clear.

FOI 6a, LOI 22d which was also one of my favourites, along with 9a, 25a and 8d. I’m going for 8d as COD, with 25a running it very close.

I’m really not following the “run away from home, twice” in 15a - any help appreciated!

Thanks, Brendan, clearly on the wrong track with my 20 across, now feeling very silly...!

Hi Pulmunen,

15a - Single letter for "earl" followed by an 8 letter word for "home" with the usual letter for "run" removed twice - definition is "makes peer" not "makes" as I originally thought.
