Afternoon all. 27a anyone? Can’t make it make sense. I could have 24d wrong, which could be why but I don’t want to introduce spoilers. Thanks.

Welcome pulmunen
Interesting to hear about your Lapland experiences. It must be a whole different ballgame when it gets so dark during winter.
Glad you decided to join here.

I can see some lovely parsings now. 8d is my favourite clue. An enjoyable “Everyman”

Catcharmer 27a is an anagram of two words plus a single letter from the start of another word, which is probably what you have by now anyway

I really enjoyed this, but with Sunday afternoon wearing on I still don’t understand how to parse 4d. Can someone put me out of my misery?

First 3 letters French for "in the style of", then part of the bible, then a word for "healing", missing the first letter, which could stand for "about".

I enjoyed this far more than yesterday's prize.

Looking for a rhyming pair helped me with the solve.

I had not heard of the smelly creature. I was sure it was either a dog or a pig which held me up until I had a LBM.
There were some cleverly disguised anagrams today.

I enjoyed this again, thanks Everyman. A mix of the easy and ones that really made me think. FOI 1a which always helps. COD 4d which I thought was very clever. I liked 14a, a lovely surface (I'm learning the lingo!) but don't understand the reference to Pauline. Pauline who? The perils of .. ? A la St Paul?

I had a lovely 9a in Cyprus a few years ago.

In addition to 25a, 26a has come up fairly recently with a similar clue and I thought that 13d rang a bell as well.

LOI 16d with the help of the Missing Letters and then the forum's parsing (thanks, Brendan).

Warm enough to sit in the garden in the sun here in Hampshire to do the puzzle today.
