Hi everyone,
Newly discovered the site. First time commentor. All done except for 10A. Any gentle nudge would be appreciated. If I substitute A for O in the only 4 letter word with O I can think for exam I get a sea/lake

The exam isn't 'oral', it's a 'practice' exam. The connection was the title of a song.

I also first thought it might be oral/aral, but it isn't - It's more what you take in preparation for the actual exam, with, as you say, the O changed to A.

Thanks, Mattrom, Ixion and Brendan. All sorted now. Enjoyed the tussle though not as prolonged as some Geniuses tend to be. Am sure my monthly tryst will be easier henceforth now that I know where to look for nudges.
