Right folks - time is up. Only one vote to come in but it would not affect the result.

Runner-ups this week were jimmy's clever #34 and aristo's witty #8 with 8 votes apiece.

Our runaway winner is the technically efficient and wonderfully smooth surface achieved by mattrom in #14 with a landslide 26 votes -

Vet cited after doping English bloodhound (9)

The inspiration for this week after hearing it on the radio is your first prize

**Bonus prize** because not everyone will enjoy the music

Thank you all for playing, I thought the standard was particularly high this week.

See you all soon

Congrats mattrom. Perhaps next weekend we should chip in for snacks and drinks as this frequent hosting must be putting quite a dent in your entertainment budget (also from last time, that red wine stain on the carpet? Um, that wasn't me).

Thanks to the voters for the votes, and to BBM for the hosting and the clip. Geez, Elvis was 24 in that video...I am simultaneously pumped up and feeling old.

That's also a fantastic live "Sunday Papers" a few songs down on that playlist.

Congrats mattrom (again) and thanks BBM2. Thanks for the votes tyke and dorrien.

Minor claim to fame - I briefly taught the keyboard player in the Attractions, in SE London - not keyboards, though!

Well done again, mattrom, and thanks for hosting, bbm2.

Votes much appreciated from Paul (3!), jimmygtal, fieryjack, dorrien and mattrom.

From the second clip fellow chessplayer jimmygt will remember Sir Jeremy Morse (inspiration for the crossword addict inspector's name) who as Chairman of Lloyds Bank was behind so much chess sponsorship in the good old days.
