For the definition is that 'Two for the Road' a way of saying 'excessive', or am I missing something?

As it said 'one in' I've read up about the film but nothing jumped out at me.

Help me out please!

[kt, I believe you need to think about ‘one in two’ as a gradient, 1:2. Which is indeed steep! PeterM will correct me if I’m wrong!]
