I enjoyed this on the whole and most of it didn't take me too long.

13d stumped me for a bit. I had the second word as order and thought the first must end with an N to make Norder!

November didn't catch me out this time as I've come across it before.

I still haven't parsed 9a although, from my crossers and the definition, I must have the right answer.

9a: it is an anagram, after adding letters o and d.

Thanks Mathi.
I don't know why I didn't spot that!

Definitely a more tricky one for me this time. LOI was 24a as I've never come across this November reference before - my wife thought she may have heard of something and Mr DuckDuckGo gave the answer.

I still can't parse 9a though.

Overall a good fun puzzle.

Happy New Year, all.
Liked the alliteration today, and 8A got a groan after Brendan's hint.
I also fell into the N trap for 24! though I tend to spell the speaker's helper as a three letter word (**c).
I was impressed by 4D and 12A, and enjoyed 11A & 15A.
Thanks all. Have a good week

Like everyone else, I enjoyed this. Thanks to the forum for explaining 23a. I laughed when I got 13d which is my COD.
