All right, the winner can be declared. I'm not sure if Marty is voting; I believe he only entered a clue for "56," but the lead is insurmountable.

Runners up are Paul @20, FieryJack @41, and Spike2 @40. There was a tie for second place with Pedagogue's out-of-this-world subtractive anagram, and Mattrom's tribute to the beautiful Rita Hayworth.

Our winner for this weekend is Jono and his green thumb with his very clever

Congrats jono & thanks for hosting mathprof

Her brief appearance in Shawshank is no doubt why that film consistently finishes high up on audience favorite lists.

When my oldest daughter was about 4 or 5 she started playing what we know over here as soccer. At that age no score was kept officially, but all the parents were keeping score themselves anyway.

As I indicated at the start of the contest, it was Mattrom who put the idea in my head for a numerical clue, after last week's Listener. Thanks to all who participated, but no score was kept, although we all know Jono won this one too, if only for effort alone.

Jono gets the Player of the Week trophy:

Thanks to all who participated. Buddy, ChrisE, Mattrom, Dorrien, FieryJack, Marty, and Jimmy all tried their skill at the numerical entry, and with a variety of clever ideas. A couple of those entries got me thinking of my own combo cryptic/numerical clue. Perhaps the number of days in a week times the number of days in the Beatles' week? So everyone is a winner today because you get to listen to the Beatles.

Congrats jono - nice to pick a winner.

Thanks mprs, and for the clips - was that you driving the Chevy?

Buddy - it's a long time since I saw the film, but wasn't she just a poster?

That was only for the movie though. In the story it was just a poster of her, unless my memory fails me. It's been more than 30 years.
