Congrats, Mattrom. I wish a certain other vote had been this decisive. No need for lawyers, guns, and money. (Buddy will probably get the musical reference.)

Thanks for hosting, tyke. If only Pennsylvania had been as on the ball as you.

Very nice, mattrom. Thanks, tyke. Nifty clip, but is the sky always that blue?
dorrien: I didn't think it was a ghost anagram! Guess I'm out of it.

I thought you might know Whitby - Robin Hood`s Bay is a special place too, best fish & chips and great pubs all along the coast!

Jono

Prospect of Whitby looks like a nice pub - Cook started work on ships carrying coal from the north east to London - he then joined the navy and ventured a bit further afield! Have you sampled the Sam Smiths pubs in London? - there are more than 30, including famous ones like the Olde Cheshire Cheese, Princess Louise and Citie of Yorke.

Perhaps I should expand - all of our Whitby trips have been fern-related, one way or another.

B****y long way from the car park to the sea at Robin Hood's Bay! The same is true for Staithes, but we thought the latter was "prettier".

Long ago we went to the Prospect of Whitby. However at the time we preferred the Mayflower, the other side of the foot tunnel. I wonder what they are like now?

Chris, small world, I know the Mayflower well, haven’t been down that way recently so don’t know how they are faring in recent times. I’ve also eaten fish in chips in Robin Hoods Bay. Started the coast to coast walk there a few years back.

Tyke, I know the Cheshire Cheese not the other two but will be sure to look them up. Thanks for the recommendation.

That's perverse, jono - nearly everyone finishes the "Coast to coast" there, as walking west to east has most of the weather following you!

I started it once, but the others were much fitter than me - lunchtime on the second day we had reached Patterdale, and I decided that was enough!

Chris, yes we went against the flow but had the Lake District to finish with and fitness built as we went! It worked rather well
