As former physicist (a long time ago) I appreciated Chris@20’s schoolmasterly differentiation of force vs mass. Also enjoyed Fj@22 for the deductive anagram, Faiton@33 alternating letters, Mprs@35 for ‘The Band’ reference, Granama@28 for the homophone.

I also like ChrisE @20 for the physics lesson, and I thought Paul @9 was the best of the anagrams. I was tempted by Spike with "obstreperous git," but I vote for the one that kicked off the competition, fieryjack @2, for his elegant clue and brilliant use of crew for eight.
