Very nice puzzle. Definitely on the easier end: even I’ve finished it already! Some really neat clues though, like 15 and 9.

I’m not 100% confident about the endgame, perhaps like others because of the phrase “describing the above advice”, which doesn’t quite seem to click. I see eight letters running SE from a ‘c’, whose second letter I might delete to make it thematic — does that sound like I’ve got the right idea?

In line with the vast majority of responses here, I found that KARLA made solving the puzzle A LARK... Hats off to drxx (post 14) for spotting the pleasing bonus numerical feature.
(I'm not sure that this is the right thread to be asking this, but in the clue to 10ac, I found "maybe that's" to be redundant. Is there a way of parsing this clue to warrant its inclusion?)

Jif, I saw the "maybe" as indicating that "hey" is one of many possible interpretations of the five-letter word which replaces it. "That's" I interpret as "that has " in the sense of "the previously mentioned synonym for "hey" has a synonym for custom replacing O.

I hope this makes sense - there must be less long-winded ways of explaining it!

Whilst solving thought 'maybe' was not required. My only explanation was the dictionary definition of first word is an add-on 'used also etc'
