Well done Paul - I confess I didn`t understand the clue! Hard luck Jono and thanks Paulh - thanks also to Spike2 for a precious vote and Chrise & Paul for likes. Kingfishers live within a mile from my home - all I`ve ever seen is a flash of blue as they dart along the wooded streams.

It took me a little while to parse Paul's clue.
I would have needed some crossers if I was solving it blind.
