Once u have nailed 18D you should look up a disreputable paper IN country publishing Le Figaro

This looked impossible at first, but actually went in surprisingly easily though. 24a was brilliant, and 15d pretty good.

One I'm not sure about:
3d - I understand the homophone bit, but not the actual grid entry (unless it's a reference to Shetland, for example - though that would need a bit more in the clue to be fair).

It’s a term for insomnia

Thanks zozozo. I didn't know it was a general term for insomnia. I had come across the term in an Ann Cleeves novel, set on Shetland, referring to the difficulty of sleeping when it never really goes dark (in June especially).

This was a fun solve and some brilliant little clues in there.

15d and 24a are those gems with really fun "a ha!" moments after you finally parse them.

great puzzle, yet to fully parse 19d, 21a and 3d (despite the clue below I can't see the homonym) any help?
