Wow! What a tour de force, Kt. Thanks for taking the time on such a detailed summation, for the mention and a versatile word to clue.

Congrats, Granama!

I saw John Mayall supported by Chicago Transit Authority (before they simplified to 'Chicago') in about 1969/70. loved the early stuff - the 'Bluesbreakers' album featuring Eric Clapton is fantastic

Could someone advise when the Clueless puzzles are to be posted? Looking back recent ones seem to have been posted in the wee small hours of Tuesday mornings. Is it ok to post up on Monday evenings (or later on a Tuesday morning)?

I'm usually fast asleep at midnight!

Granama it's fine to post the clue at 9.00am on Tuesday UK time. I put them up at 1 minute past midnight to give a fair lick of the lolly to Australasian friends.

Hi, Granama. When I first took part in the Clueless and Peer Review competitions, they were generally set around mid-morning on the Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively. Some setters would occasionally, because of commitments or for their convenience, set the challenges earlier. Possibly this is becoming the "new normal". The competitions are global so, considering the variety of time zones involved, a variation in the times of setting is understandable. In other words, do whatever suits you best, Granama. Good luck for your first time at the helm!

Thank you Skyewalker and kt17. I'll aim for earlier rather than later and study how to put links in a post for the prize. It says enter them as (http://...) - does that actually mean enter them in brackets?

Ah, that actually indicates that the brackets aren't needed. Sorted!

Just highlight the URL by clicking in the address bar, copy it by holding down Ctrl key and pressing C. Click in the box where you want the link, hold down Ctrl again and press V to paste it.

Thanks Chrise. It looks like I'd better use the 'proper' computer when the time comes. Much more used to cutting and pasting on those than with android/apple devices. I'd probably need a yoof to demonstrate how to do that!
