Just starting this thread in the almost certain belief that I'll need it.

I'm finally nearing the finishing line for this week's Listener, after which I'll take on the IQ, which also looks like an absolute beast, then, if my head isn't spinning too much, I'll do this, with the Wall Street Journal for later in the week - I'll be back, I guarantee it! Hmm.. doesn't have the same ring to it as Arnie's line:-)

IQ wasn't too bad ...preamble fails to mention that the omitted letters make a phrase which will help with the shaded answers...
