Short, weedy= Pun(y)
Landing the first = catching the initials of Hot and Cold
Blows about = reverse order as in “wind blows something about”
Def; Blow

This was the original version. Wasn’t sure about using “blows about” as opposed to “about” because of the split infinitive and the efficacy of the swapping indicator but preferred the reading so much I’ve put it back in!

I accept it's subjective and it's difficult with there being limited indicators for acrostics but I don't think "starts" before the fodder without "of" or "to" really works.
