25a is not LINE. It has a different last letter. Slang word for language minus o (love)

I have LING for the entry at 25a. The repeated words I referred to are not the entries but the words that make them up.

RUCK isn't right. As Spoffy has already written the "wrinkle" is LIRK since the bottom two letters of 5d are RK.

There are 36 words involved in the puzzle, and each one is split between two entries, so every word is defined twice (once where its first half appears, and once where its second half is found). There are no 'oddments'.

Strictly speaking, I should have said "There will be no oddments once you have written your clue to 34 across."
