CLUELESS 473

Welcome to Clueless, our informal weekly clue setting competition.

The idea is to compose a cryptic clue to a given word or phrase.

The winner of the previous week's competition both sets the word to be clued and judges the entries for the current week.

The decision is final and reasons may or may not be given at the judge's discretion. It is customary for the judge to donate a virtual prize to the winner.

Multiple entries may be submitted and new competitors are particularly welcome.

Explanations may be given for complex or obscure clues.

Clues should be submitted by 6:00 pm (UK time) on Wednesday, May 6th.

The answer to be clued is:

I was surprised to see that this isn't in my Chambers, but I assume that it's in general use nonetheless.

(Not an entry, just reminded me of an old Jewish joke of the genre..)

So the Nazis got hold of Moshe Greenberg and his accountant Solly. They were tied up against the wall with a firing squad facing them. The SS officer said;
“Is there anything you’d like to say before we shoot you?”
Moshe says;
“You Nazi scum. You may have the advantage now but we will survive as a race, we will be back in out millions, we will never rest till we hunt you down, we will never let this go ..”
Solly says “ Moshe - be quiet - don’t make trouble...”
