I'm sorry but I didn't like this at all, especially 21ac. Where they weren't write ins they were poorly clued, and definitions are stretched to the point you wonder if the setter just double thumbed Roget's.

Too many obvious solutions today perhaps.

Definition is then in the middle. Bah!

I was surprised to meet 24d again so soon, having seen him in 26a on Friday.

Sticking two "Primarily" clues beside one another is shoddy.

Yes, I remember doing a clue similar to 14d also, a few weeks ago.

My point is that definition (in the middle!) and wordplay are mixed up, but it's not an &lit as "Half of what's seen in" and "for starters" aren't part of the definition.
