I'm sorry but I didn't like this at all, especially 21ac. Where they weren't write ins they were poorly clued, and definitions are stretched to the point you wonder if the setter just double thumbed Roget's.

My point is that definition (in the middle!) and wordplay are mixed up, but it's not an &lit as "Half of what's seen in" and "for starters" aren't part of the definition.
