As in "wrong'un" for googly, malone? (sorry, cricket!). It always amuses me that the sub-continental commentators can't say it - they say "wrong one" every time!

The Jumbo has been really devilish this week! There are some I only half see + these two, which I can't see hardly at all.
35 Across - "Fifty disembarking from transport to the French African port". The answer should be BISSAU, the capital of Guinea-Bissau, but as this is Portuguese, I can't see the French connection. Nor the "transport" link.
41 Across - "Tree from US city displayed by sticker book". This should work out as LABURNUM, but apart from "LA" for the city, I can't see the remainder.
Also, 42 Down appears to have used MASCARA as a verb form and added "ED" to the end of it, for the past tense. Can mascara be used as a verb?

35 Bliss = transport, delight etc. Drop the L, fifty.
Au =French for 'to' (to the French)
Biss Au.

42 I think Mascaraed is an adjective, rather than the past tense of a verb. It's like Hennaed, meaning hair that's been treated with Henna.

LABURNUM - LA US city; BUR sticker i.e. sticky bur from the plant; NUM I presume is abbreviation for Numbers in the Bible

A lot I can't parse either!

11d "Left one distant land for European city" (4)

Any help much appreciated

Posted this one earlier, can't see any replies, maybe if the setter is reading this they could help us parse it?

47a Winding up following chief, hardly resting (10).
